Nor'easter April 23, 2012
The weather has been superlative for the past month and the trees and plants have been benefiting from the sun and warm weather. So when a Nor'easter bore down on us and pasted the entire landscape with a wet heavy layer of late April snow things shifted dramatically. Not what we had anticipated nor desired, but it goes along with the crazy weather that seems to have become the new normal.
In our property survey after the storms conclusion damage was evident. Large limbs of an ancient apple tree had snapped as well as numerous branches of other species. The pear trees were bent to the point of touching the ground and the black currants flattened like pancakes.
School was canceled so it was time for a little Black Currant rescue
